Why Did English Become Important?

Language has always been integral part of our life.  It determines our existence in the world. Every language has its own importance.  Language gives us a way to communicate. Few languages are important for in formal communication which we do in every walk of life. On the contrary, few language in termed as official language or else a formal language for official working and professional purpose. For say, India is a multilingual country where each region has its own specific language that they use for informal communication. Like Hind as a native language for someone residing in north while a south Indian has Tamil or Telgu as its native language.
