Birth and Death of a Star

Stars decorate our night sky. They have fascinated humans for very long. They are much bigger than they seem to be. Our sun too is a star. Like all living beings, the stars are also born, grow old and die. Only difference being that there life is in order of billions of years. Stars are formed out of clouds of gases and dust particles collapsing under own gravity, thus raising the temperature and pressure. Once this temperature and pressure becomes sufficient enough to sustain nuclear fusion of gases, the star is born and it starts emitting visible light. How long it will live and how it will die depends on its mass. It may die as a brown dwarf, white dwarf, a neutron star or a black hole.
