The Wo-Man Empire: A Womanist Reading of Ama Ata Aidoo’s Plays

This paper is a womanist critique of Ama Ata Aidoo’s two plays, Dilemma of a Ghost (1965) and Anowa (1970). The paper examines the roles of the major female characters in the two plays, in their relationship with the men in their worlds, and brings out their undeniable contributions to the lives of these men.
