Process Optimization of Friction Stir Welding of Silicon Carbide Composites- Taguchi Methodology

K. Harinarayana, N. Jeevan Kumar, T Vijay Kumar

Abstract

Rubbing blend welding process is an advanced developing strong state joining process used to join high quality aluminum metal network composite. Grinding mix welding produce sound welds in metal network composite with no harmful response amongst framework and fortification. This present work centered to assess the impact of process parameters, for example, welding speed; instrument rotational speed and apparatus geometry on rigidity of grinding blend welded. SiC composite joints. Process parameters were controlled by the Taguchi parametric outline approach. Result demonstrated that device pivot speed, welding rate and device geometry effect on elasticity of welded joints.

Keywords

Friction stir welding, tensile strength, joint efficiency, metal matrix composite and Taguchi method.
