Abstract


Environment and development are two sides of the coin. Any one of these cannot be sacrificed for the other. On the contrary both are equally important for our future. Thus the responsibility lies on Supreme Court and High Courts to deal with these cases with caution of high degree.hen only we can achieve our goal i.e. to secure a healthy developed country for our next generation. There is no dearth of on laws related to environmental protection in India but their enforcement has been far from satisfactory. There is a need for effective and efficient enforcement for constitutional mandate. The paper analyse the statutory provisions relating to different kinds of pollution in the Indian legal system
