Abstract


The Dictionary meaning of law is the system of rules which a particular country or community recognises as regulating the actions of its members and which it may enforce by the imposition of penalties.

            Another definition of Law defines Law as a rule, defining procedure or behaviour in a sport.

            Law in simple words can be defined as a system or procedure of rules that are created and enforced through social and/or governmental institutiojns to regulate behaviour.

            State-enforced laws can be made by a collective legislature or by a single legislator, resulting in statutes, by the executives through decrees and regulations or established by judges through precedent, normally in common law jurisdictions.

            There are many branches of law but Copyright Law plays a vital role in our lives.  As per the Oxford dictionary Copyright is “the exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film or record literary, artistic or musical material.
