Weather Forecasting Using R

Pritam Sah, Rajesh Babu, Jayant Adhikari

Abstract

In this project, we are using the R programming to import the public data and performing data mining on it. R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. R provides a wide variety of statistical (linear and nonlinear modelling, classical statistical tests, time-series analysis, classification, clustering and graphical techniques, and is highly extensible. One of R's strengths is the ease with which well-designed publication-quality plots can be produced, including mathematical symbols and formulae where needed. In this project we are using 3 algorithms to forecast the weather. The algorithms used are: Logistic Regression, Decision Tree and Random Forest. We are using 3 algorithms because we need to increase the accuracy of weather forecasting.
