An Innovative Approach to Configure Smart Industrial Environments Using Internet of Things

P.Kishore Kumar, Kiraann Vennuti

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging technology and expected to provide solutions for various industrial environmental fields. As a basic technology of the IoT, wireless sensor nodes can be used to collect the required environment parameters for specific applications. An industrial IoT system can perform data collection, processing and provide services to production decisions. However, the challenge remains for the IoT system to ensure the quality and quantity of data collected from sensor networks. To address the issue, an independent regional connectivity model is presented in the context of sensor networks to guarantee global connectivity with satisfied quality of data service using Wi-Fi. We also investigate the optimization of sensing coverage and regional connectivity in an industrial IoT system in both deterministic and random deployment. Numerical results and Graphical presentations show that our proposed models are efficient for the application of sensor networks in industrial IoT systems. Our research proposal was to visualise and summarise the value proposition of the Internet of Things in an Industrial environment. ThingSpeak is an IoT analytics platform service that allows you to aggregate, visualize, and analyze live data streams in the cloud. In our project the sensors information gets uploaded to ThingSpeak which are interfaced with ARM microcontroller and create instant visualizations of live data, and send alerts using web services. This thesis will propose a general definition of IoT and summarises the value delivery methods of IoT in a smart Industrial environment.
