Dr. D. Gnanasenthil Kumar, Mrs. T. Sreerekha

Abstract

Tirupur is the knitwear cluster of India. This cluster is widely recognized as a ‘dynamic’ cluster with necessary ‘vertical’ depth, critical mass of enterprises as also appropriate factor conditions. Spinning is the twisting together of drawn-out strands of fibres to form yarn, and is a major part of the textile industry. The yarn is then used to create textiles, which are then used to make clothing and many other products. Habitual Absenteeism of migrant employees is a major problem which adversely affects the entire industrial economy. The problem of absenteeism is of vital importance in Indian organizations because in comparison to the west, the rate is considerably higher in India. The effect of habitual absenteeism in industrial productions cannot be measured easily.
