Partition of 1947: A Historical Outline

Abstract


The movement of freedom gave flaming and misgiving atmosphere to north Indians. The agreement to divide colonial India into two separate states – one with a Muslim majority (Pakistan) and the other with a Hindu majority (India) is commonly seen as the outcome of conflict between the nations’ elites. It was very difficult movement for policy makers and planner to paint this dark dent of time. Riots and mass murdering created a atmosphere of terror.
