Performance of Ad-Hoc Network Routing Protocols in Different Network Sizes

Abstract


AMobileAd-HocNetwork (MANET) isa temporary networkthatiscomposed ofthemobiledevices whichcommunicates throughwirelesslinkswithoutany pre-existing infrastructure. Routing isoneofthemajor concernsinthe MANET duetoitsfrequent changing topology andtheabsenceofcentralized administrator.In this paper, weevaluatetheperformanceofMobile Ad-Hoc NetworkRoutingProtocolsDynamic SourceRouting (DSR),Ad-HocOnDemand DistanceVector(AODV)and LAR1under differentperformance metricslike  Packet Delivery Ratio,AverageEnd-to- Enddelay and Drop RatioTheperformance evaluationisdonein different networksizesusing Glomosimsimulator.The comparisonresultshowsthat LAR1 and AODVgives betterPDR whileDSRgiveslowest PDR and AODV, DSR gives lowest End to End Delay while LAR1 gives higher Delay.
