Web GIS Application for Dams and Drought in Myanmar

Abstract


Myanmar is an agricultural country. So, Dams and division are built in Myanmar for meeting needs of water and energy. Engineers need information on dams and diversion. Drought information is needed in disaster management. For dissemination of these data, technology can be utilized. This system is web Geographic Information Systems (Web GIS). GIS provide geographic information and 3D visualization capabilities. For web GIS, application, powerful and open source software is namely, Map server is available. In this paper, we present DHTML pages that will be written for dam and drought applications.
