Environmental Conservation as Source of Building Peace – Myth or Reality
Abstract
Peace-building is both the theory and practice of identifying the conditions that can lead to a sustainable peace. It is must for human development and effective environmental management, both of which are critical to achieving national and regional goals. Applying peace building to environmental crises would include developing an understanding of eco-justice and promoting its advancement. Both peace and environmental educators have a common goal-of stopping violence. Both negative and positive peace implies a commitment to nonviolence in inter human relations and human relationships with nature.
