Prosody And Content In Eastern And Western Poetry (On The Example Of Romantic Epics)

Abstract


This article discusses weight as one of the main elements that create a poetic rhythm, and analyzes the issue of its transformation into traditional dimensions in Eastern and Western literature. On this basis, the poetic weights used in romance epics in Greek and Oriental literature are analyzed. Romance works which appeared under effect of Persian literature on Turkish literature, the poetic weights used in them, and the bahr of Hazaj, which has become a tradition in the Aruz system, are discussed.
