Abstract

Insurance agents often must deal with rejection from their customers. Physical and mental fatigue become a challenge for this profession. Therefore, resilience is required for insurance agents to have high dedication to their work. This study aims to see the influence of resilience at work on work engagement in insurance agents. The method utilized in this research was the quantitative method. Resilience at Work (RAW) scale and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-9 (UWES-9) were used to measure resilience at work and work engagement. This study gathered 111 insurance agents which were selected by purposive sampling technique. The analysis technique used was a simple linear regression analysis. The results showed a very significant effect of resilience at work on work engagement on insurance agents. This implies that insurance agents who have good resilience can adapt well to job pressures and demands so that they can motivate themselves better to work harder and ultimately feel more engaged with their work.
