Dentin Hypersensitivity: A Review

Abstract

Dentin hypersensitivity is a widespread painful dental problem that is characterized by short sharp pain. The management of this clinical condition requires a good understanding of the complexity of the problem as well as the variety of treatments available. The objective of this review article is to provide a brief overview of the diagnosis, etiology and clinical management of dentin hypersensitivity and to discuss technical approaches to relieve sensitivity. We have used PubMed to find relevant literature published up to date.
