Abstract

This work is focusing on the importance of keratinolytic fungi and their property of utilizing and degrading keratin. Degradation of keratin plays a vital role in the betterment of environment as there is large accumulation of waste in the form of keratin (hairs, feather horns, wool, nail. etc) is piling on the planet, therefore it is a necessary to degrade this keratin with the help of keratinolytic fungi.  Specific proteases, keratinases are the enzymes involved in this process of utilization of keratin.
