Rasool Majid Sahaib

Abstract

This Study examined the impact of governance on the quality of financial Accounting Information. Regulators have asserted that strong E- governance enhances the transparency and validity of financial statements. Previous studies addressing the relationship between E- governance and financial reporting quality yield mixed results. This study employs analyst earnings forecasts to determine whether E- governance procedures impact the quality of accounting information. Using multiple measures of financial reporting governance and reporting quality, we find that higher reporting quality is associated with increased governance. We find that our market-based governance measures have a more consistent effect on nonprofit reporting quality than do our regulatory-based measures.
