Uzbekistan: Strategy from a Planned Economy to a Market

Abstract

Article dedicated to the memory of Islam Karimov, the first President of Uzbekistan, who led the country during the transition from a planned to a market economy, has developed a kind of "Uzbek model". The merit of it is to create the foundations of a democratic state with a market economy, the development of industry and agriculture, the reforms in all spheres of public education and the socio- political life of society.
