Urban Forms in Planning and Design

Abstract


This paper on urban form in planning and design is intended to discuss how the old concepts are changing and new meaning of the urban form is emerging in the planning and development of urbancentres. The paper is an attempt to elucidate the basic concepts of the urban forms and how they are perceived at different levels of the planning and design exercises.

The paper finally concludes with findings and recommendations which can guide the future course of development of new towns and the growth of the urban centres.
