Child Labour: Poverty Forces Children to Become Labourer

Abstract


This paper traces the root cause behind the increasing number of child labourers in India i.e. poverty. The child labour is not a recent concept but a concept with which country has since long been familiar. Child labour is widely used in India as elsewhere in many countries. In India the problem of child labor is linked to certain basic social problems that we have been struggling with over the past five decades of the freedom: illiteracy, unemployment and poverty.
