ENHANCEMENT OF HEAT TRANSFER RATE IN SHELL AND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER WITH HELICAL TAPES

Abstract


This paper provides heat transfer and friction factor data for single -phase flow in a shell and tube heat exchanger fitted with a helical tape insert. In the double concentric tube heat exchanger, hot air was passed through the inner tube while the cold water was flowed through the annulus.
