Abstract

I would like to work on the ‘revision, rediscover and refashion’ of Victorian self in Neo-Victorian era as reflected in the text Wide Sargasso Sea. The text encapsulates not only the woman protagonist’s self but that of Jean Rhys’s psychologically intricate character Rochester too. Herein may come the Post-modern context, where under macro-powers, gheraoed individual soul struggles to establish its identity and reclaims due right out beyond the constricted territory.
