Changing Scenario of Municipal Corporation Rohtak

Abstract


The fact is that urban local government or municipal bodies have been given constitutional status in India in 1992 which provides uniformity in the structure of these bodies in the whole country and empower such powers which are required for the administration of the urban area. According to the 74th amendment act 1992 of the constitution of India, the urban local government is divided into three levels viz, Municipal Committee (for the area which is in transitional phase from rural to urban), Municipal Council (for the smaller urban area) and Municipal Corporation (for the larger urban area). These municipal bodies are formed by the state government according to the specific area. The present research paper highlights the changing scenario of municipal corporation in Haryana focusing at Rohtak M.C.
