Customers nowadays expect firms to meet high standards of health and safety for workers, respect human rights, protect the interest of consumers and meet environmental standards, regardless of where they operate.(smith, 2002). Recent years have witnessed rising concern for environmental degradation, which is taking place mainly in the form of pollution of various types, viz. air, water, sound, soil erosion, deforestation, etc. Waste disposal costs and other environmental liability costs are crucial information to be disclosed by core sector companies as they have direct impact on the environment
