Expedite Message Authentication Protocol For Vanets: A Study

Abstract

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) undertake the general public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate Revocation Lists(CRLs) for their protection. In thischallenge Expedite Message Authentication Protocol for VANETsis proposed which replaces time consuming CRL checkingmethod by using an efficient revocation checking procedure. Therevocation examine procedure in EMAP uses keyed Hash MessageAuthentication Code where the key utilized in calculating theHMAC is shared best between non revoked OBU.
