Design Optimization of Hypoid Gear by Using Structural Analysis
Abstract
Hypoid gears are broadly used to transmit crossed-hub power and movement in vehicles, boats and flying machines, and could offer higher load capacity and pivot position adaptability than winding slant gears. Hypoid gears are angle gears with nonintersecting tomahawks where the hypoid offset is characterized as the briefest separation between these two tomahawks. Hypoid gears are favored over slope gears without offset if parts of apparatus noise or of installation space are in core interest.
