A study on the influence of Employees’ Core Competencies on Employees’Job performance

Abstract


Human resource is a key factor to achieve competitive advantages in organizations. Work force with best talents is essential for organizational success.Employees’ core competencies have been associated with individual skills to fulfill expectations of the organization to achieve job targetswhich are established by top management of organization. Employees tend to learn and develop core competencies in order to improve job performance. Job performance is vital because accomplishment of organizational goals and objectives can be evaluated by the performance of human resources. This study examined the research problem of whether employees’ core competencies influence on job performance in insurance companies in the Trincomalee district. Quantitative methodology has been employed for this research and questionnaires were issued to obtain the data.
