Abstract
The consideration of blast loading is gaining interest for the design of crucial structures (nuclear reactors, dams, bridges etc.). Bridges are vulnerable under blasts because of their immense strategic importance and easy accessibility. The dynamic response of a representative long span cable stayed bridge in terms of displacement, shear force and bending moment at critical sections under plausible blast situations is evaluated.
