Wheelchair For Paralyzed Persons Based On Eye Movement Using Raspberry Pi

Abstract


This project includes the wheelchair that implemented for paralysed and disabled persons. The implemented system will be allowing the paralyzed persons to control the wheelchair movement without taking help from other persons. The wheelchair system will controlby the movements of Eye pupil. The camera is fixed in front of the user, to capture the image of any one of the Eye (either left or right) and tracks the position of eye pupil with the use of Image processing techniques. According to eye pupil movement of user, motor will move in required direction such as left, right and forward. In addition to this, for the safety purpose Infrared sensor is mounted in front of wheelchair to detect the obstacles. Whenever obstacle is detected it stops the wheelchair movement. All these operations are controlled by the processor called Raspberry Pi. This is independent and cost-effective wheelchair system.
