Abstract


   The cargo handling management in the port sector post private participation in India has witnessed a phenomenal in the import and export trade. The government policy of operating ports under PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode has paved way for the emergence of more number of warehouses in the ports hinterland. The researcher in this project wishes to study about the impact of off dock CFS in container handling with special reference to Chennai port.

CFS will assume a greater part in future their part in serving to decongest port quick conveyance of holder, load and different administrations among shippers and exporters with the east Africa is a representation of the basic part they can play in the freight dealing with chain.
